Existence/sense/meaning/subordinate clause/subsentence/Frege: e.g. "After Schleswig-Holstein was cut off from Denmark, Prussia and Austria quarreled." The cutting off is not part of the sense - it is rather a prerequisite for the whole sentence to makes sense.
