Quine's fourth syntactical insight is introducing a predicate with schema letters.

Problem: E.g. Each sentence or its opposite is true - that must not be: (Each sentence is true) or (each sentence is wrong).
Solution: F () is then __ or __ s opposite is true.
Geach: subordinate clauses (relative clauses) and pronouns are not mere substitutes.
This is actually a bug in modern logic books.
