Similarity/self-assembly/forgery/Dennett: E.g. assume an adhesive that is used by a company that dries too quickly and needs to be stirred. Thus, it forms a characteristic stripe pattern. This pattern will be formed again and again, no matter in what context, if the adhesive is used. This similarity has nothing to do with the origin of the objects .
 In a world without design processes, all similarities would be suspect: they will probably go back to copying.
