Secondary extension/Goodman/Searle: allegedly, the secondary extension of "ophthalmologist" includes something that does not belong to that of "occulist".
SearleVs: such statements about the secondary extension are completely irrelevant for whether two expressions are synonymous! It is simply a fact that oculist means ophthalmologist. Otherwise the criteria would be completely arbitrary. Cf. >secondary extension/Goodman.
