Greeks/Hellenes/Burge/Cresswell: E.g., a language in which "Greeks" means what "Hellenes" means now (post-classical Greek) - then "x believes that Aristotle is a Greek" becoomes wrong (because he believes that he is a classic Greek). - But the string is now the same! - VsQuotational Theory - i.e. the meaning is crucial. >Reference, >Speaker meaning, >Objects of belief.
