Arndt II 188
VsRationalism/Arndt: confusion between the simple and the general! Obscured the debate about the analyticity criterion - made falsely seem possible the derivation of properties from essential concepts.
LockeVsRationalism: he avoids this by distinguishing: ascent (bottom-up): in the formation of ideas by abstraction from particular to general (from the individual to species and genus) - descent (top-down) reducing the composite (complex ideas) to the simple.
>Idea/Locke, >Mind/Locke, >Order/Locke.
