His major works include Prisoner's Dilemma: John von Neumann, Game Theory, and the Puzzle of the Bomb (1992), The Recursive Universe: Cosmic Complexity and the Limits of Scientific Knowledge (1985), and Labyrinths of Reason: Paradox, Puzzles, and the Search for Truth (1988). His fields of specialization are mathematics, physics, psychology, economics, and science journalism.
