E. Tugendhat (1930-2023), German philosopher. His major works include Ti kata tinos. Eine Untersuchung zu Struktur und Ursprung aristotelischer Grundbegriffe (1958), Der Wahrheitsbegriff bei Husserl und Heidegger (1967), and Vorlesungen zur Einführung in die sprachanalytische Philosophie (1976). His fields of specialization were philosophy of language, philosophy of mind, ethics, and political philosophy.

Metalanguage: metalanguage is the language in which linguistic forms, the meaning of expressions and sentences, the use of language, as well as the admissibility of formations, and the truth of statements are discussed.
