Terminology/Sen: Amartya Sen is considered the founder of "capability theory", which exerts a strong influence on current social and freedom philosophy by focusing on the "capabilities" of individuals to lead a self-determined life.

Economy/Sen: is not a lifeless image of dead objects, but a dynamic construct of living subjects. - Opposite: Economy as a traditional economy.

Capability/Capability Approach/Sen/Nussbaum: together with the philosopher Martha Nussbaum, Sen developed the capability approach. It is about differentiating between skills and functions (functionings).
