Mause I 76f Crises/Streeck: thesis: Through "investment strikes", the economy is in a position to deprive the state of the financial resources it needs for a redistributive (social) policy in the medium-term. While after the Second World War there was still a "post war settlement" between the economy and politics to the effect that the economy could "live" with moderate profit, the situation changed fundamentally in the late 1960s at the latest and the "post war settlement" was unilaterally terminated.
