Paratactic analysis, philosophy: the attempt to analyze a compound sentence by juxtaposing the complete sentences derived from it. E.g. the earth rotates. Galileo said that. With this, problems with the attribution of propositional attitudes or indirect speech should be avoided. See also propositions, propositional attitudes, quotation, opacity, all that he said is true.

Paratactic Analysis/Davidson/Glüer: interrupts the semantic and logical connections. >Meaning theory
.
Propositional attitudes/paratactic analysis/Davidson/Glüer: Davidson proposes to make two statements out of one:
(1) The evening star is a planet.
and
(2) Smith said that.
This interrupts the semantic and logical connections. This should be extended to all psychological propositions. >Propositions.
