Methexis: Methexis (μέθεξις), which is Greek for "participation," is a philosophical concept that describes the relationship between individual things and the Forms, or Platonic ideals. Plato believed that the Forms are perfect, eternal, and unchanging, while individual things are imperfect, changing, and impermanent. Methexis explains how individual things can have the properties that they do, even though they are imperfect copies of the Forms.

Plato on Methexis - Dictionary of Arguments

Participation/Plato/Gadamer: As "Phaidros" teaches, it is no coincidence when Plato emphasizes [the] controversial relationship of "participation" in particular in using the example of the beautiful.
Presence: The idea of the beautiful is truly present in what is beautiful, undivided and whole. The example of the beautiful can therefore be used to make the "parousia" of the eidos (which Plato means) plausible and can offer the evidence of the matter in the face of the logical difficulties of the participation of "becoming" in "being". "Presence" belongs in a convincing way to the being of the beautiful itself.

Beauty: Beauty may be experienced as much as the reflection of something supernatural - it is still there in the visible. The fact that it is really another, a being of a different order, is shown in the way it appears.
Appearance: Suddenly it appears, and just as abruptly and without transitions, suddenly, it has passed away. If one must speak with Plato of a hiat (chorismos) between the sensual and the ideal: here it is, and here it is at the same time closed.
>Beauty/Plato.
