Adorno XIII 227 Pain/Materialism/Spinoza/Adorno: the philosophy of Spinoza has been much more materialistic than its reception by Schelling and Goethe would make us believe. But for him, the price is paid for the pleasure principle being sacrificed to what is called the principle of ego according to a Freudian expression.
