Modernism/Moral/MacIntyre: Thesis: Despite the efforts of three centuries, there is still no uniform, rationally justifiable explanation of a liberal, individualistic point of view(1).
Dilemma: either one follows the efforts and the collapse of the Enlightenment (see Enlightenment/MacIntyre
) until only Nietzsche's diagnosis remains, or one must say that the project of the Enlightenment should never have been tackled. (2)
