Theoretical terms: recognition of objects coincides with the mastering of statements. II 42 Empirical content = categorical observation sentences: linking theory with observation - two theories are equivalent if all categorical observation sentences are identical. - Theory implies categorical observation sentences without being implied by them. >Observation, >Observation language, >Observation sentences, >Implication, >Theories. II 44 Theoretical terms do not even exist in categorical observation sentences. Theory: rewording: E.g. exchanging electron and molecule - an arbitrary empirical sentence (with theoretical term), however, will be evaluated oppositely. - Mark theoretical terms and assign them to the two theories: then no problem, no relativism. >Electron example. --- XII 29 Comparative/Existence/language learning/Ontology/Quine: theoretical terms come into play through comparatives "smaller than this spot". Important argument: although it is unobservable, the existence does not need to be discarded.
