Milton Friedman (1912-2006), American economist and statistician. His major works include Capitalism and Freedom (1962), A Monetary History of the United States, 1867–1960 (1963, with Anna Schwartz), and Free to Choose: A Personal Statement (1980). His fields of specialization were monetary economics, consumption analysis, macroeconomics, economic policy, and political philosophy.
