| Gernot Klepper: Gernot Klepper (1951–2024) was a German economist specializing in environmental and climate economics. He led the Environment and Natural Resources department at the Kiel Institute for the World Economy, advancing interdisciplinary research on climate policy, bioenergy, and emissions trading. Klepper also chaired the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) Association and advised various scientific and policy institutions.
