David K. Lewis (1941-2001), American philosopher. His major works include Counterfactuals (1973), On the Plurality of Worlds (1986), Meaning (1970), Parts of Classes (1991), and Papers in Philosophical Logic (1998). His fields of specialization were metaphysics, epistemology, logic, and philosophy of language.
