Hans J. Morgenthau (1904-1980), German-American jurist and political scientist. His major works include Politics Among Nations: The Struggle for Power and Peace (1948), In Defense of the National Interest: An Essay on American Foreign Policy (1951), and A New Foreign Policy for the United States (1962). His fields of specialization were international relations, political realism, and national interest.
