William D. Nordhaus (1941), American economist, Sterling Professor of Economics at Yale University and a co-recipient of the 2018 Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences. His major works include Invention, Growth, and Welfare: A Theoretical Treatment of Technical Change (1969), Managing the Global Commons: The Economics of Climate Change (1994), and A Question of Balance: Weighing the Options on Global Warming Policy (2007). His fields of specialization are climate change economics, environmental economics, economic growth and development, and public economics.
