Mancur Olson (1932-1998), American economist and political scientist. His major works include The Logic of Collective Action: Public Goods and the Theory of Groups (1965), The Rise and Decline of Nations: Economic Growth, Stagflation, and Social Rigidities (1982), and Power and Prosperity: Outgrowing Communist and Capitalist Dictatorships (2000).
