Protagoras (c. 490–c. 420 BC), Greek Sophist philosopher. His major works include Truth (Aletheia), On the Gods (Peri Theon), and The Art of Eristic (Antirhesis). He mainly worked on epistemology, metaphysics, ethics, and rhetoric.
