Lester G. Telser: Lester G. Telser: Lester G. Telser (1931–2022) was an influential American economist and Professor Emeritus at the University of Chicago. He earned his Ph.D. in 1956 under Milton Friedman and joined Chicago’s faculty in 1958, teaching there for over three decades. Telser made significant contributions to industrial organization, futures markets, and core theory—a variant of game theory focusing on cooperative behavior among groups. His notable works include Competition, Collusion, and Game Theory and The Core Theory in Economics: Problems and Solutions.
