| Irving Fisher: Irving Fisher (1867–1947) was an influential American economist known for his contributions to monetary theory and interest rate analysis. He developed the Equation of Exchange (MV=PQ). The Fisher effect, which links inflation to interest rates, was named after him. Fisher was also a pioneer in health economics and statistical methods.
