Game-theoretical Semantics - Economics Dictionary of Arguments
Game-theoretical semantics: Game-theoretical semantics is a branch of formal semantics that uses game theory to model the meaning of language. It is based on the idea that the meaning of a sentence is determined by how it would be used in a dialogue between two speakers. One of the most influential game-theoretical semanticists is Jaakko Hintikka. See also J. Hintikka, Semantics, Game theory, Meangin, Sentence meaning, Dialogue._____________Annotation: The above characterizations of concepts are neither definitions nor exhausting presentations of problems related to them. Instead, they are intended to give a short introduction to the contributions below. – Lexicon of Arguments.
