François-Noël Babeuf: François-Noël Babeuf (1760–1797) was a French revolutionary and early socialist thinker, known for advocating communal property and equality. He is famous for his role in the "Conspiracy of the Equals," an attempted uprising for social equality. Though he left no major works, his writings, including Tribun du Peuple, influenced later socialist movements.
