Johann Gustav Droysen (1808 – 1884), German historian and politician. His major works include Geschichte der preußischen Politik (1855–1886), Grundriss der Historik (1868), and Geschichte Alexanders des Großen (1833). His fields of specialization were history, politics, and philosophy of history.
