His major works include Thought (1973), The Nature of Morality: An Introduction to Ethics (1977), and Explaining Value and Other Essays in Moral Philosophy (1986). His fields of specialization were philosophy of language, cognitive science, philosophy of mind, ethics, moral psychology, and epistemology.
