Hans Kelsen (1881-1973), Austrian jurist, legal philosopher, and political philosopher. His major works include Hauptprobleme der Staatsrechtslehre (1911), Reine Rechtslehre (1934), Allgemeine Staatslehre (1925), and Vergeltung und Kausalität (1946). His fields of specialization were legal theory, jurisprudence, constitutional law, and international law.
