Thomas S. Kuhn (1922-1996), American historian and philosopher of science. His major works include The Structure of Scientific Revolutions (1962), The Second Revolution in Cosmology (1962), and The Essential Tension (1977). His fields of specialization were history of science, philosophy of science, and sociology of science.
