Jacques Lacan (1901-1981), French psychoanalyst and psychiatrist. His major works include Écrits (1966) and The Four Fundamental Concepts of Psychoanalysis (1973). His fields of specialization were psychoanalysis, linguistics, structuralism, and philosophy.
