| Bruce S. McEwen (1938-2020), American neuroendocrinologist and head of the Harold and Margaret Milliken Hatch Laboratory of Neuroendocrinology at Rockefeller University. His major works include The End of Stress As We Know It (2012), The Hostage Brain: Overcoming the Effects of Trauma (2004, and Resilience: The Science of Mastering Stress, Building Strength, and Recovering from Trauma (2012). His fields of specialization were neuroendocrinology, stress, resilience, trauma, and brain plasticity.
