A-not B Error - Psychology Dictionary of Arguments
A-not-B error: The A-not-B error is a cognitive mistake observed in infants during object permanence tests. It occurs when a child continues to search for a hidden object at the initial hiding place (location A) rather than the new hiding place (location B), demonstrating a temporary inability to understand that the object still exists even when out of sight. See also Object permanence._____________Annotation: The above characterizations of concepts are neither definitions nor exhausting presentations of problems related to them. Instead, they are intended to give a short introduction to the contributions below. – Lexicon of Arguments.
