| Dimensional Approach - Psychology Dictionary of Arguments | |||
| Dimensional approach: In psychology, the dimensional approach views mental states as spectrums, not categories. Instead of classifying someone as "having" or "not having" a condition, it measures their degree on different scales like anxiety, neuroticism, or impulsivity. See also Personality traits, Continuum, Openness, Aggreeableness, Extraversion, Neuroticism, Categories, Categorization, Continuity, Discontinuity._____________Annotation: The above characterizations of concepts are neither definitions nor exhausting presentations of problems related to them. Instead, they are intended to give a short introduction to the contributions below. – Lexicon of Arguments. | |||
