| False-belief task: The false belief task in psychology assesses one's ability to understand that others can hold beliefs that differ from reality. Often used in theory-of-mind studies with children, this task measures cognitive development by evaluating if individuals can recognize and comprehend that someone might hold a belief that is false or inaccurate.
