Robbers Cave Experiment: The Robbers Cave Experiment, conducted by Muzafer Sherif in the 1950s, was a study of intergroup conflict and cooperation. In a summer camp setting, two groups of boys were pitted against each other in competitive activities, creating hostility and group identity. Later, collaborative tasks requiring joint efforts were introduced, which effectively reduced the intergroup tension and fostered cooperation and harmony.
