George Berkeley: George Berkeley (1685-1753) was an Irish philosopher. His major works include "A Treatise Concerning the Principles of Human Knowledge" (1710) and "Three Dialogues between Hylas and Philonous" (1713). Berkeley is known for his idealism, proposing that reality exists only through perception in the mind of a perceiver.
