Robert Nozick (1938-2002), American philosopher. His major works include Anarchy, State, and Utopia (1974), Philosophical Explanations (1981), and The Examined Life: Philosophical Meditations (1989). His fields of specialization were political philosophy, philosophy of mind, epistemology, and metaphysics.
