Niklas Luhmann: Niklas Luhmann (1927 – 1998) was a German sociologist and philosopher of social science. He is best known for his general sociological systems theory, which he applied to a wide range of problems, including law, religion, economics, and politics. His major works include Social Systems (1984), The Law of Society (1982), Love as Passion The Codification of Intimacy (1986), Risk A Sociological Theory (1993), Trust Forms and Functions (1993).
